Dear Abhay You are in final year of degree and this is perfect time to take decision regarding your career path after completion of degree. To be VLSI Designer you need to be very good in logic. Specific things you should study are: Digital Design from Wakerly Timing Analysis from Feroz Nekoogar CMOS from Kang Verilog from Palnitkar You can download Xilinx free VLSi tools from www.xilinx.comand start writing and simulating verilog codes. After this much work you will need a platform to enter into a job Join Mtech(VLSI) or Join VEDANT, Mohali or search some employee references No. of vacancies are limited but qualified candidates are also limited. So work hard and you will definitely succeed. If u have soecific enquiries, call me at 09888441230 regards

Dear Amit its not necessary to go for MTech But still you need some basic knowledge about VLSI and a platform for campus placement so better join any good training institute like VEDANT or CDAC MTech might help you at later stage in your career but intially not much.
Regarding Embedded Systems, the domain is also picking up very fast and has more openings than VLSI. But it needs much wide knowledge base than VLSI. and to start with Diploma in Embedded Systems Design from CDAC (Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore or Kolkata centers) is really good with excellent placement record.
