Reservation in ST category will hardly make any difference. It will only put backward tag on us. Gurjars were already declared ST in Himachal but that hardly improved there situation. Getting jobs is not sufficient for development of community, changes in lifestyle, attitude and mindset are must and there is no other way except quality education.
These are all propganda issues raised by our thoughtless leaders.

Well I think just taking the example of Himachal can't justify such a big statement. Please don't get offended.. But I believe reservations can certainly help a community take some advantage of it and in long run it shall certainly help our community improve.

I agree we can have some advantages but what about the social gap that will be created due to this. A sense of inferiority develops which will leave us nowhere. Harijans had been granted reservation in 50's, there is hardly much change in them. Yadavs, Jats, Sainis are few examples of communities which progressed without reservations. Even in gurjars, just see how many gurjars took advantage of backward class tag. Most of the gurjar professionals I look around have never used the quota instead they make it through their education and hard work only.

I think rservestion in ST for the short period (say about for 5 to 10 ) will improve the condition of gurjars community. I am agree with the view of pankaj kohli that change in life style is very important.
But my dear pankaj if get the job in the goverment or in private sector than our life style will change automaticaly if the life style of one generation changes than the life style of nxt gen will change.
i am not saying job for money there is no lack of money in gurjars community.

I agree with u.b'coz i think that it ll only add on more tag..
as we alredy ve such as bachia chor,daqet,pichde,& etc..& that tag will be
achoot.
I dont think ,that SC Tag will improve our community.To improve our samaj
perfect persons in each field should take some perfect actions for our new
generation,so that we make perfect gujjar smaaj.

Will anybody give me example of one community which gained money, power and status with such reservations over the past fifty years. why don't we believe in capabilities of our own people. Ask any SC guy how much isolated and separated he feels among crowd.
Gurjars are born to be rulers not sarkari clerk or babus.

i firmly agree with pankaj.we don't need a tag or sympthay to make a presence in the mainstream society.If we will have ST tag then other communites will look us by hatred eyes.Think even we guys see SC and ST people by hatred eyes because we feel they are getting the positons or jobs without much hardwork and efforts.
So we must believe in ourselves and our capabilites.We should believe in this quote "WE AND ONLY WE ARE THE ONLY MAKER OF OUR OWN DESTINY".Our community people have lands and resources,they only need right guidance and motivation.
Believe me there is no easy way to achieve success.By ST tag we can produce thousands of Babus,clerks,peon and other lower grade employees but it's really hard to produce IAS,IPS,Business managers,IIM graduates, CEO, COOs etc because these positions need individual hardwork,efforts and dedication in which ST tag can't help much.
What about self-respect?what we think of SC or ST officers like "Bhai dekh engineer ban gaya bina mehnat kare aur aata kuch bhe nahe hai" or "Yaar yeh to ST hai chinta ke kyaa baat hai quota kahe na kahe to kaam aa he jaayega".but when an ordinary guy becomes IAS without any tag then we think like "he is a telented guy" or " mahneti hai bhai" or so.

So we must believe in our capabilites.Our ancestors were royal kings and rulers they were not followers so why should us?Our people just need motivation and proper guidance.We must not down our self-esteem in sake of getting some easy money or positions.Only hardwork and true efforts can change our community destiny.

i think reservation in ST category is not a good step for us becouse already we have a reservation in OBC.

we will block in a group like in obc there is many other casts which are also major in population like yadav, mev and many others

i also know that we can not avail the many features but we have to do our best.

it is more important to got the top of compitition then to reserve ourself in a category

i want to say every buddy to do somthing then got everthing in category

First i want to thanks all of u peoples who had given their views on this topice. according to my view this reservation benefits should be given to those who r really in need of them. There are many communities which are not finanicial sound but in some states or in some places. so this reservation 4 our cummunity is beneficial for those who r really inneed of this. so those who think it is a tag or anything as they can refuse its benefits. But i think nobody want to do this . so help those peoples of our cummunity which r very poor like in J&K,Himachel,some area of U.P.,in M.P. Please talk on grounds ,these reservation r not for u & me these r for those who vote & wait for this reservations.
Some of you say about other cummunities why we should think about others ? when we'll make our community wealthy & healthy, then we'll concentrate on others also.
