Hiiii friends, I want u people 2 discuss the position of women in our community. why people in our community are not aware about female education? why most of the people want their daughters to study (hardly upto graduation) and get married? why there is parda system for women? I want u all to discuss the above questions. POSITION OF WOMEN AND INFACT THE WHOLE SOCIETY IS LAGGING BEHIND BCOSE OF THE EARLY MARRIAGE SYSTEM PREVLANNT IN GURJARS. AFTER MARRIAGE GIRLS STOP STUDYINGS, PARENTS THINK WHY SPEND ON STUDIES, TAKE RISK OF A MARRIED GIRL MOOVE TOGETHER WITH OTHERS. THEY FEEL SHE SHOULD GO TO SUSRAL AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. WHILE THE BOYS R EXPECETD TO WORK AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE? WHILE IT IS THEIR AGE FORGETTING MORE EDUCATION AND SKILLS I/O JUST STARTING AND SMALL TIME JOB. THIS IS THE FIRST THIMNG WE NEED TO CHANGE BUT HOW?  |

Hi all, bhai main bhi aapki sab bato se sahmat hun. Lakin parda system shayad itna bura nahi hain yadi ye sadi suda aurto ke liye hai to ( Ye ghar ke bade logo ke samman ke liye hota hai) Lakin iska ye matlab katain nahi hai ke parda system ladkiyo ko aage badne se rokta hai ya ladikiye ki padhai ko rokta hai, Main yanha parda system ko keval - ghoonght mankar likh raha hun. Main parda ke bilkul paksh me nahi hun janha ye kisi kee Ajadi ko khatam karta hai. Lekin Ghoonghat system Mujhe lagta hai ki sahi hai - Jara Dil se Sochiye ? Dear All,
After reading all thoughts i want to tell you that entire community require awareness its not only in Parda or dowrey but in terms of marriege and education also. Though we cant change our forfather's mantality but we should try gradualy to improve in that by setting examples.
Let me tell you my story (I am working with AOL ( Mgr Gurgaon) my wife doing CA : I tried to convince my parents for not taking parda partha for next genration but they didn't agree, so there was no way but to go with them. So we can't go beyoned them. Anyhow Gd Night and be good.

Hi All,
This is very good that at least some of us are concerned about the girl postion/education in our gujjar community. I have seen a very healthy discussion about the same in the thread.
Just wish to suggest one thing called "adopt a family"
why we all on the forum just try to adopt a gujjar family that might be living very close to our places or in our home town. Try to convince them regarding the education of their kids especially girl child and also help there children in study if we can. The important thing here is to be educated even if they are unbale to get good job at least education brings maturity in thought and wisdom and will help them to bring their childs in better manner.
It will be great if we can financially assist the family a little bit.
We might be already doing it some or the other way. but let us try to do it with some objective in mind then we can evaluate our efforts and direction in better manner.
